Most people host concerts in their living room or whatever common space they have that is suitable for guests. We have performed in all size spaces so don't worry too much about that. You can set up folding chairs or just gather around the living room on pillows etc. Most spaces are workable. Can I host a concert in my back yard? Since these events are house "concerts" and not house "parties" they are best enjoyed in a more intimate "listening" area. The performance tends to become more "background" music when presented in outdoor settings, so  we only play indoors for this type of event. How do I promote my house concert?
